Pam & Alex

It all begins with an idea.

Our Story started in 2020 during covid Alex being on the Autism Spectrum and AFAB was experiencing some depression I assumed it was the lack of socialization but that wasn’t the case the depression developed into self harm and running away to result in our first hospital admission and also Alex s coming out as transgender male and wanting to change their name and that they were gay.In the search to find help and support to help navigate all of this I realized I couldn’t find support for the lgbtq aspect only mental health services but the two are not mutually exclusive from one another.Frustrated to put it mildly and feeling quite alone in all of this processing Alex and I created Mercer County’s first and only Lgbtq support group for youth and Parents.Covid waves forced in person to shut down and went to only online until I had to step away to focus on Alex’s internal battles. We had the first Pride picnic event in 2022 and again in 2023.With community help the support group is open to Youth and Young Adults and a seperate one for parents and families. The only goal ever in this mission was to bridge a support system between mental health and the lgbtq community in our area so that other families don’t feel isolated and alone in their journey. We will continue to gather community resources to accumulate all necessary resources and access within the support group.Alex now happy in their non binary identity and Gay with stability and support in the mental health journey speaks volumes from where we started.Join us our Motto is DON’T JOURNEY ALONE.

Much Love,

Pam and Alex
